I understand you are doing a Version Upgrade which is why I gave you the steps to optimize the old install first which works for about 70% or those who follow all steps up to Saving Nothing, then for those who choose as the screen to Change What to Keep to Save Files only or Save Nothing, it works for about 90%. It's a better install than any amount of money could buy and a great learning experience that will make you the master of your PC. You will get and keep the best possible install to the exact extent you stick with the steps, tools and methods in the linked tutorial. Make sure during the booted install to follow the illustrated steps to delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space to get it cleanest, then click Next to let it auto-create the needed partitions, format them and begin install - this makes it foolproof. If not then it usually means the underlying install is corrupted so what works best then is to do this specific Clean Install which should get you past all difficulties as it has hundreds of thousands of others who have followed the steps in this link and never come back to report another problem. Did you try choosing at the screen "Change What to Keep" to save only your files, or nothing? This works in about 90% of cases.
